Jaipur: Agitating medicos opposing the OBC quota in elite educational institutions on Friday apprised Vice President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat of the "de-merits" of reservation and asked him to intervene in the matter.
A ten-member delegation led by Dr Rashmi Kataria apprised the vice-president on the de-merits of reservation to general category students in the institutes of higher learning.
Kataria said Shekhawat assured them to listen to their problems related to quota.
"The vice-president has said that he would discuss the matter with the president at the time of the quota bill to come up in Parliament in monsoon session," she said.
However, the Vice President asked the doctors to work for poor patients and utilise the maximum grants or funds for this human service, Kataria said. No memorandum was submitted to the Vice President, she added.
Meanwhile, the resident doctors' indefinite strike continued in all five medical colleges of Rajasthan affecting healthcare services.
