HYDERABAD: YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP-elect YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is keen to lure second-rung leaders and cadre of the Congress in order to promote them as future leaders of YSR Congress, it is learnt.According to sources, Jagan is of the view that a majority of the sitting MLAs, particularly those who won for the second time, would have to tackle the ‘anti-incumbency’ factor in their respective constituencies by 2014 elections. Initially the YSR Congress leader had hoped to lure a maximum number of MLAs from both the Congress and TDP to dethrone the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. He has changed his mind now and is eyeing second-rung leaders like zilla parishad chairpersons, MPPs and MPTCs to groom and promote them as YSR Congress leaders by next polls.
