Faridabad: Paceman Irfan Pathan on Thursday missed the practice session with the Indian cricket team because he was suffering from sore throat on the eve of second One-Day against England.
Pathan will, however, be available for selection in the team for the match to be played at Faidabad on Friday, Board of Control for Cricket in India media committee member GS Walia said.
India won the first One-Dayer at Ferozshah Kotla ground in Delhi to be 1-0 up in the seven-match series.
In the first ODI India were bowled out for just 203 but won the match due to an excellent effort of their bowlers who managed to get the England team out for 164 runs.
The left-handed pacer was one of the key players in the Indian victory picking up two important wicket in his first over to peg back the run-chase by the England team.
Pathan's presence is vital in the team as he has been filling the slot of an all-rounder in the team to perfection of late.
India is already missing Sachin Tendulkar, who is recovering form a shoulder surgery in London, and with the top order frailing repeatedly the team needs deep batting line up.
England have already shown that the Indians are also vulnerable at home turf against good fast bowling and they would like to forget the first match as a nightmare and look for a win in Fairdabad ODI.
