BANGALORE: June 26 is the International Anti-drug Day. On this occasion, Forum Mall initiates awareness campaign I Lost My Mind to Drugs to enlighten Bangaloreans about the ill-effects of drug addiction. Join hundreds of people as they gather together at the Forum Mall Atrium at 3 pm to bring about awareness among the citizens, especially the youth for their betterment on June 24. The campaign is aimed at battling drug consumption, which preys millions every year across the globe. Dedicated youngsters from various colleges will be performing a short play highlighting the abnormalities caused by misuse of drugs and how to recover from the addiction.About International Anti-Drug Day In 1987, the UN General Assembly decided to observe June 26 as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse.The date marks the 1987 signing of the declaration adopted at the International Conference against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, and its avowed purposed is “to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse”.The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) launches campaigns to raise awareness about the global drug problem on this day.
