Infiltration, Terrorism, Separatism: Cops, Intel Sources Reveal Pak Plan For Jammu & Kashmir Polls | Exclusive
Intel sources reveal Punjab route: “With the infiltration, terrorism and separatism, Pakistan aims to build pressure on the Indian government. At least 400 terrorists are sitting on the launchpads in Jammu and North Kashmir,” police sources said

Ahead of the Jammu and Kashmir elections, Pakistan is looking to attack India on three fronts, according to top police sources.

The voters in Jammu and Kashmir will cast their votes on September 18, September 25, and third phase would take place on October 1 along with Haryana. The counting of the votes will take place on October 4 for both the states.

“Pakistan is openly fighting along the Line of Control (LoC). It is also pushing for infiltration and supporting terrorists entering Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, it is trying to start the separatist movement. The aim is to build pressure on the Indian government through infiltration, terrorism and separatism," sources said.

In the past four months, Pakistan has given clear signals about their infiltration bids. “At least 400 terrorists are sitting on the launchpads in Jammu and North Kashmir. The recent attacks by Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) and the way they were propagated in Pakistan made it clear that they are planning similar actions. They showed how this man entered and went inside to do BAT action and how he was killed later and declared him a martyr," sources said.

TERRORISM & SEPARATISM

On the terrorism front is the entry of Jaish in new areas of Eastern Jammu. They have made new bases in Doda, Udhampur and Reasi. “These areas are different from Rajaouti and Poonch People’s Anti-Fascist Front or PAFF, an offshoot of Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and the fronts of Lashkar, bases, where there were 14-15 successful units," sources said.

In April 2024, more than 40 terrorists entered the Eastern side where terrorism was never reported in the past 20 years. The other side of the Valley also reported new sightings in Northern Kashmir which suggests new infiltration. “They enter from the North and then go to the South Kashmir side. There is an unusual rise in the sightings," sources said.

On the separatists’ front, they have got new leadership in Pakistan. “They have replaced previous separatist leader Mehmood Ahmed Sehgar with Mohammad Safi because Sehgar criticised Pakistan. Safi is an old Jamati hand and Kashmiri who wants to give new lease of life to the dead separatist movement and is well-respected among separatist groups and hardliners too. The new leadership is meeting continuously with different sets of people in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) to revive the separatist movement in the Valley," sources said.

They have contacted a large number of people, but haven’t got any success because Kashmiris are averse to it, fearing NIA action.

PUNJAB THE NEW ROUTE: INTEL SOURCES ON INFILTRATION FROM SAMBA TUNNEL TO DODA, SUNDERBANI, PURI

CNN-News18 had earlier reported there are almost 50 foreign terrorists in Jammu. According to top intelligence sources, the infiltration is happening through an active tunnel in Samba Sector. There are around 20 to 25 terrorists in Doda Kishtwar Ramban area, who have come from Punjab province of Pakistan. There are reports that they have sneaked in through Punjab sector too.

According to intelligence sources, the infiltration has happened in the past three months. Another set of infiltration has happened in Sunderbani and Puri sectors. There are around 25 terrorists in Puri belt, including Reasi. There are sightings in recent days in Jammu district towards Akhnoor side too.

Main launchpads are in Shakargarh, Sialkot and Zafarwal from the Punjab side. Another infiltration is happening through Bagh, Kotli, Nalli, Samani, Tarkundi and Nakial.

According to intelligence sources, Pakistan is taking advantage of long borders. Earlier, the Border Security Force (BSF) caught terrorists, even through drones.

Apart from this, weapons, ammunition and drugs are regularly coming through Punjab to take care of the expenses of local OGW and terrorists.

CNN-News18 had earlier reported how Pakistan was changing its strategy regularly to keep terror activities on in the area. As Kashmir has dried up, they have explored new areas, which is a cause for major concern because of the difficult terrain and army establishment in these new areas.
