India's men's team will play South Korea on Wednesday in their last group match.
Guangzhou: India opened their men's kabaddi title defence on a winning note with a 40-24 victory over Iran in the Asian Games here on Tuesday.
India, who led 29-13 at the end of the first half, staved off a strong challenge from Iran in the second session to win their Group A match.
Both the sides scored 11 points each in the second half.
This is Iran's first loss in two matches, having beaten South Korea 55-20 on Monday.
India play South Korea on Wednesday in their last group match.
In the women's section, Indians got a walk-over against Nepal in Group B. India had beaten Bangladesh 34-20 on Monday.
They play South Korea tomorrow.
