New Delhi: India will take up with Pakistan the reported transfer of 150 acres of Gurudwara land in Lahore for a military housing project, External Affairs Minister SM Krishna said on Friday.
"We will certainly take it up with the concerned authorities in Pakistan," Krishna said in the Rajya Sabha after SS Ahluwalia of the Bharatiya Janata Party raised the issue during Zero Hour.
"The member has raised a very important issue. I share his concern and the concern of the house," Krishna added.
Protesting against the Pakistani government's move, Ahluwalia said, "Next they will sell Panja Sahib (one of the few Sikh Gurudwaras in Pakistan), where there is still the hand imprint of first Sikh guru Guru Nanak."
"The government should summon the Pakistani ambassador and take a commitment that the property of minorities like Sikh, Hindus and Sindhis will be protected."
