India calling, will Kidman oblige?
The Oscar-winning actress may visit International Women Film Festival, to be held from December 11 to 18 in Delhi.

New Delhi: If Hollywood's hottest stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are in India, Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman may not be far behind, if efforts by organisers of the International Women Film Festival - to be held from December 11 to 18 - fructify.

"We are trying our best. Our contact person in the US has already got in touch with Kidman and chances right now of her coming for the festival are 50:50," said Festival Director Shyamali Deb Banerjee.

Kidman had won the Oscar for her brilliant performance in The Hours in 2003.

Banerjee said Kidman, who is now in Rome for the premier of her maiden directorial venture Fur, is expected to take a final decision on her visit to Delhi on returning from the Italian capital.

Nearly 130 films from more than 30 countries, including India, will be screened at the film festival to be held in association with Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry and Delhi government.

The festival, whose first edition was held in Kolkata last year, will this time have a competitive section both in the feature and documentary sections.

The festival will have a retrospective of films by director Aparna Sen and Indian Panorama besides featuring latest films by Gautam Ghosh and Buddhadeb Dasgupta among others.
