The Digha Estuary Fish Auction Center, West Bengal, is again in the headlines for its impressive catch, an occurrence not so rare at the place. As per the reports of Local18, the fishermen of the place got ahold of another humongous fish, but it is not a hilsa, Telia Bhola or Kai Bhola fish.
The fishermen trapped a Sankar fish or a stingray, generating a lot of interest and buzz among the locals and the place. According to more reports, the fish weighed around 40 kilograms, when the fishermen brought it to the Digha Estuary Fish Auction Center.
No hilsa fish is being trapped at the place but other types of marine fishes are being found in the Digha sea. These include fishes like Telia Bhola and Koi Vala, bringing immense joy to the fishermen. On top of this, they sent a 40 kg stingray for sale.
More information about the captured fish states that it was brought on a trawler from the state of Odisha. It found its way to the Digha Estuary Fish Auction Center. As soon as it was spotted, a wave of enthusiasm was observed at the centre. Tourists, as well as the locals, clamoured at the place to take a glimpse of the animal. Despite being large, it is not auctioned for high amounts; the price stays below Rs 1 lakh. The catchers, the fishermen as well as the buyers are very ecstatic with the Sankar fish, paying no heed to the amount of money it will bring.
