IMD Weather Update: Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan will see heavy rain over the next two-three days

Heavy rain is likely in central Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Konkan and Goa on July 1, according to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecast. Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan will see heavy rain over the next two-three days.

The IMD report has predicted heavy rain over Arunachal Pradesh on July 1, 4 and 5; Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gujarat State on July 1, and Assam and Meghalaya on July 1, 2, Uttarakhand on July 2. Isolated very heavy rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh on July 1-2; Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh on July 1-2; East Rajasthan on July 3-5, Bihar on July 1, 2, Saurashtra and Kutch on July 2,; Gujarat Region on July 2, 3 and 5.

A cyclonic circulation lies over Haryana and a trough runs from Punjab to Mizoram in lower tropospheric levels. Under their influence, rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is likely over Northwest and Central India during the next five days.

Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh during July 1-5.; West Rajasthan on July 1 and 5; East Madhya Pradesh on July 1, 3 and 4, and Chhattisgarh during July 1-3.

A cyclonic circulation lies over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and another over northeast Assam in lower tropospheric levels. Under their influence, widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is likely in Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over East India during the next five days.

Isolated rain is likely over Bihar on July 1-5; Gangetic West Bengal on July 1, 4 and 5; Odisha on July 1 and Jharkhand on July 1-3. isolated heavy rain is likely over Bihar on July 1 and 2.

A cyclonic circulation lies over north Gujarat and neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels and off-shore trough at mean sea level along Maharashtra- Kerala coasts. Under their influence, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is very likely over Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, Coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Gujarat State; scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall over Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Interior Karnataka during the next five days.

Southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and entire Chandigarh. Conditions are favourable for further advance of southwest monsoon into remaining parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab during the next two-three days.
