The Pakistan army chief today approved the execution of Jadhav for alleged "espionage and sabotage" activities. India reacted strongly saying that execution of Jadhav would be treated be as a "premeditated murder".

New Delhi: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Monday asked the Centre to save Kulbhushan Jadhav, who has been awarded death sentence by a Pakistan military court, even if that meant taking "extreme step".

"It (awarding of death sentence to Jadhav) is unfortunate. The government, if need be, should take extreme step to save him," Thackeray told reporters without elaborating. Thackeray, who is in the national capital to attend a meeting of NDA leaders, did not answer queries on the details of the meet.
