Wrestler Sushil Kumar says he's made his guru and country proud.

Beijing: Olympic bronze medal winner Sushil Kumar has not just created wrestling history for the country but has also surprised every Indian watching the Games.

The 25-year-old Delhi wrestler qualified for the Beijing Games after finishing seventh in the World Championships last year. CNN-IBN met him immediately after his victory. Here’s what he had to say:Sushil Kumar: I am very happy that I won the medal and lived up to everyone's and specially my guru's expectations. He's been a great wrestler himself. He couldn't get here himself but made us practice at his institute. He used to keep saying, I couldn't get it, hope one of my students gets it.CNN-IBN: When you came to Beijing, what were your expectations?Sushil Kumar: I wanted to win as I was trained to win.CNN-IBN: It's been a long journey for you.Sushil Kumar: I am glad that it’s been successful.CNN-IBN: You had to struggle in the initial half of the game.Sushil Kumar: It was very tough. Defeating America and Belarus isn't easy because they have great techniques.CNN-IBN: How will you celebrate?Sushil Kumar: I will take rest now. I am tired.
