Hyderabad: Alliance Française of Hyderabad is organising a talk with Dr Daniel Negers, a French professor who is a Telugu expert from National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilization (INALCO), Paris on September 1, Saturday, at 11 am. Dr Negers who speaks fluent Telugu, will be talking about his anthropological research and how he mastered the foreign language.
His research had been conducted over a period of 23 years, during his visits in India. He has gone to places like Peddapuram, East Godavari district in 1983 to study extensively the ‘Burrakatha’ traditions. The professor also has a French/Telugu dictionary to his credit, published with the Telugu Akademi.
The talk will be in both English and Telugu at the Alliance Française of Hyderabad, Road no.3, Aurora colony, Banjara Hills. The event is open to all and is free entry. For further details, contact 040-2355 4485/86.
