New Delhi: Huawei is gearing up for a larger slice of the Indian mobile and tablet market pie. The Chinese telecom giant has launched a tablet called MediaPad and two new smartphones - Huawei Sonic and Huawei IDEOS X3 - in India.
Priced at Rs 28,359, the Huawei MediaPad tablet runs on Android 3.2 OS and is powered by Qualcomm's 1.2 GHz dual core processor. It features a 7-inch LCD screen that has a resolution of 1280x800 pixels. The device has a 1.3 megapixel front camera and a 5 megapixel auto focus rear camera with HD video recording capabilities. The tablet has a 4100mAh Li-Polymer battery. It also supports Flash and HSPA+ connectivity that offers speeds of up to 14.4 Mbps.
The Huawei Sonic runs on Android 2.3 and is powered by a 600MHz processor. The Sonic is one of the first cloud phones to arrive in the market. It has a 3.5-inch TFT LCD screen and a 3.2 megapixel camera. It comes with a 1400mAh Lithium-ion battery. The phone has 256MB RAM and 512MB of on-board storage and 20GB of additional storage (4GB of bundled microSD card and 16GB on the cloud drive). The phone's memory can be expandable up to 32 GB. It costs Rs 9,210.
The other phone launched by Huawei is the Ideos X3 that has a 3.2-inch TFT LCD screen. Much of the X3's specifications resemble the Sonic's. It also runs Android 2.3 OS and is powered by a 600MHz processor. Having a 3.2 megapixel camera, it also has 256MB RAM, 512MB on-board memory and 20 GB of additional storage. The X3 also offers Bluetooth connectivity, along with USB and Wi-Fi connectivity options. The phone has a 1200mAh Lithium-ion battery, which is weaker than Huawei Sonic phone.
