Housewives want Fin Min to give some relaxation in the costs of goods and services.

Mumbai: Rising inflation worries homemakers as well, besides the government! Housewives now want the Finance Minister to come to their rescue giving some relaxation in the costs of goods and services. They find themselves bruised by the escalated monthly family budget due to increasing inflation.

Noted financial planner Guarav Mashruwala said, "Housewives are finding it tough to manage their daily expenditures. It is eating into the family savings. Hence, they want a reduction in costs of goods and services."

While the headline inflation is hovering around 8.50 per cent, food inflation is at around 13-14 per cent. It results in increase in prices of essential commodities. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in its last monetary review policy raised key policy rates by 25 basis points to tame inflation. However, it was widely expected to raise it by 50 basis points.

According to the market commentators, RBI clearly indicated that the government too needed to take steps to curb inflation through different measures. It is not the banking regulator’s responsibility alone.

In coming budget, the Finance Minister is expected to weave some measures in that direction, analysts believe.
