Historical Society of Pondicherry turns 100

PUDUCHERRY: The centenary celebrations of the Historical Society of Pondicherry will be held on September 6 and 7, president of the society V Nallam said here on Saturday.Inauguration would be held at auditorium of Management Studies, Pondicherry University (PU). Vice-Chancellor J A K Tareen will be the chief guest.An exhibition of old coins, stamps and archaeological artifacts will be organised on September 7. The valedictory function will be held at Maison Colombani, Dumas Street. Chief Minister N Rangasamy will be the chief guest and V Sabapathy, Speaker of the Assembly, will preside over the function.It is being organised in association with Indian Council of Historical Research, PU, Alliance Francaise and Department of Art and Culture of state government.
