Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Police has upped security after receiving intelligence regarding movement of four terrorists in the state's border areas, police said on Friday.

Police received the intelligence reports from bordering Jammu and Kashmir.

"We have intensified patrolling on all routes alongside Jammu and Kashmir border in Chamba, but as such there is no information on presence of any terrorists there," Director General of Police Sanjay Kumar told reporters here.

"The India Reserve Battalion has deployed over 2,200 police personnel alongside the border," he added.

Kumar said that in view of security inputs from central intelligence agencies on terror threat on vital installations across country, additional police personnel had been deployed at the Bhakra dam in Himachal.

"Besides this, we are giving special focus on preventing theft in temples and monasteries," he said.

Kumar said that temples in the state have been categorised as per their importance and security cover has been provided to them accordingly.

"We are also planning to increase surveillance on entry and exit points across the state and police would install CCTV cameras at sensitive places," he added.
