KOCHI: The selffinancing medical colleges were granted NOC on the condition that they would follow MCI regulation at the time of admission, the petitioners submitted. First round counselling for the course had been completed earlier. Later, the SC extended time for second round counselling till June 19.
But the colleges completed the admission by including a condition in the prospectus that vacant seats in government quota after May 25 will be filled. The college management do not have the right to fill seats in this manner and those who secured admission are not qualified as per the requirements, the petitioners submitted. The allegation by the petitioners need to be considered in the wake of SC order that extended time till June 19, the court said.Justice P R Ramachandra Menon directed the college managements to publish advertisement in newspapers that admissions so far would be subjected to judgment in this case.
