Gurugram Hit-&-Run: Probe Reveals Ryan School Flouted Guidelines
Jiya's family had also blamed Ryan International School saying the basic safety norms were not followed.

A probe into the Gurugram hit and run case has revealed that the Ryan school flouted several guidelines. The driver who regularly drove the bus was not on duty on the day when 7-year-old Jiya Juneja met with the accident and lost her life.

Jiya was allegedly dropped on the wrong side of the road and was later hit by a speeding car. There was no conductor in the bus which is a mandatory provision.

The report says both parents and school are responsible for the child's safety. While the bus driver has been arrested, the driver of the car which hit Jiya is still at large.

Seven-year-old Jiya Juneja, who was hit by a speeding car on May 9 after being dropped on the wrong side of the road by her school bus, had died in May in Gurugram.

Jiya's family had also blamed Ryan International School saying the basic safety norms were not followed.

"They should have handed over my child to my wife. But they didn't. The school is definitely responsible. The school bus did not have a conductor, a helper which is mandatory. It took the school four days to finally pay attention to us only after we protested. They have not made any attempts to get in touch," Jiya's father Pankaj Juneja said.
