Panaji: Goa Su-Raj Party (GSRP) kick started its unique Gandhian campaign 'This is Goa! Respect It!' near Newtons Supermarket at Candolim, North Goa. A team of GSRP volunteers approached several bare-chested tourists, explained to them the campaign and its importance to the people of Goa.

"Several Russian tourists and some British tourists were approached and presented the T-shirts and were requested to wear it and to keep in mind that while it is accepted to be bare-chested on the beach, on the streets of Goa, it is seen as indecency," expressed Floriano Lobo, General Secretary, GSRP.

In a matter of two-hours 50 T-shirts were distributed along the Candolim Street near Newtons. "It is nice when tourists understand and respect our culture. Some appreciated our initiative. Some like an unruly British Tourist above 60 years of age thought that we should not impose such laws on tourists; they want to be free and roam free. I reasoned with him and told him that this is not the way Indians behave in London, roaming bare-chested on the streets. He did not take the T-shirt but put his own T-shirt back on," revealed Savio Rodrigues, Secretary & President (Youth Affairs).

Also present with GSRP team was the new Editor-in-Chief of GoaChronicle.com Vikram Naharwar, Russian LIVE TV journalist Eketarina, Young Tiatr producer and director Tousef de Navelim, Almira Noronha and Jack Fernandes among the others.
