BANGALORE: A 16-year-old girl who passed SSLC with distinction committed suicide for not scoring 92 percent which she had aimed.

BANGALORE: A 16-year-old girl who passed SSLC with distinction committed suicide for not scoring 92 percent which she had aimed.The incident took place in Subramanyanagar police station limits on Monday night. The victim Sunidhi, a native of Pavagada and daughter of Maruthesh and Meera, committed suicide at her grandmother’s house in Subramanyanagar. She had scored 85 per cent.She was staying with her grandmother in Maruthi Extension, Gayathrinagar, and there was nobody other than these two residing in the house. Sunidhi came to the city after she managed to get a seat for I PUC (PCMB) seat at a private college in Malleswaram, police said.She was attending her classes since last one month.On Monday, she returned home after attending her classes and was watching TV.But in the afternoon, she locked the door from inside and hanged herself to the ceiling when her grandmother had gone to the neighbour’s house.Her grandmother, when returned, waited Sunidihi to open the door as she thought her grand-daughter was sleeping. But later she looked inside the house through the window to find Sunidhi hanging. After hearing the screaming of the old woman, the neighbours rushed Sunidhi to hospital, but the doctors declared her brought dead on admission.Police said that the girl was upset for not scoring 92 per cent in SSLC. She was even upset after her friends scored more marks than her.Sunidhi even wanted to get into another good college in the city, but because of marks, she could not make it and this made her to took the extreme step.Subramanyanagar police are investigating the case.
