HYDERABAD: The state government has sanctioned Rs 2.28 crore to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) as part of GHMC’s 30 per cent share to conduct a ‘Comprehensive Transportation Study for Hyderabad Metropolitan Region’. The amount was sanctioned with the condition that it should be used exclusively for the study and that no additional funds would be sanctioned. The GHMC general body accepted the `2.28 crore sanctioned by the government.The  Union ministry of urban development has approved a proposal to take up the study which is to `15.24 crore. Of the expenditure, 30 percent will be borne by the HMDA, 30 pc by the GHMC, 20 pc by the APSRTC and 20 pc by Hyderabad Metro Rail and Roads & Buildings as decided at the fifth UMTA meeting.
