Smoke House gets its name because it
has specialised in barbecue, tandoors and grills.Savour smoked dishes with light Western
music being played in the background.
The interiors has a relaxing feel, with
elegant tables and black steel-rimmed chairs.
All around the edge of the floor are muted
lights. The BBQ Buffet on individual tables is
the specialty of Smoke House. The table-top starter grills include
Chicken Tikka, Grilled Prawns, Sheekh Kebab, BBQ Chicken and Panneer Tika, as
well as mushrooms.
Add a pinch of salt, squeeze some lemon
drops, spice it up with powders and make your stomach happy. The buffet is priced at Rs 450 per person.
Smoke House was conceived and set up by
Benolima Hospitality Private Limited. It is promoted by four friends -
Benzeer, a mechanical engineer, Manoj, an interior designer, Liju, a hotelier
and Makesh.
The name of the company, Benolima, is
coined from their names.
‘’It is the first restaurant of its kind
in Kochi,’’ claims Managing Director Makesh V Raj.
“We are planning to offer franchisees under
our brand name all across Kerala.
’’ While the first-floor restaurant offers BBQ buffet, the coffee shop and seafood
restaurant on the ground floor provides another experience.
The seafood fusion restaurant offers live
sea food.

front of you.
Enjoy the specialties such as grills, barbecues
of seafood and teppan fusion.
‘’Teppan fusion is a new cooking style
developed by the Smoke House chef,’’ says Makesh.
Meanwhile, a few minutes of bonding
with your best friend over a cup of coffee will make you happy, no doubt.
For that, Smoke House has a coffee shop
where Italian, and other continental dishes are served.
It also has theme-based rooms to suit
your moods.
Couple can have a chat over a cup of coffee
at the romance hall, while friends can celebrate a birthday in the friendship
section.
On the walls, there are photos of
couples, cars, and drawings, which include a couple of skeletons standing
around a table.
And there are some interesting posters.
One reads like this: ‘Life was much
easier when apple and blackberry were just fruits’.
“A wide variety of specialty cuisines
have been included in the menu,” says Makesh.
“They have been provided by our
research centre.”
