Kolkata: After a dismal outing for Northamptonshire in the English county, former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has made a silent return to home.

Ganguly took a direct flight from London to Kolkata and reached the city on Friday morning, but his return was not declared till late this evening.

The left-hander also did not take calls on his mobile.

Ganguly, who had gone to England for a county stint, had scores of 2, 0, 6, 2 and 9 in the three four-day matches.

In the only One-Dayer that he played for Northamptonshire, the 34-year-old managed only 9.

He performed a shade better in Twenty20 cricket, culling 215 in nine matches. His scores were 15, 10, 44 not out, 73, 4, 17, 29 and 23.

While in England, Ganguly courted an off-field controversy when he sent an explosive e-mail accusing his long-time mentor Jagmohan Dalmiya of 'playing' with his career.

The e-mail was timed just ahead of the Cricket Association of Bengal's elections in which Dalmiya was Presidential candidate, who eventually won.

What's your reaction?
