TIRUPATI: The state police department is planning a comprehensive security plan to provide foolproof security on Tirumala hills. Disclosing this to newsmen here on Monday, state Director General of Police (DGP) V Dinesh Reddy said he reviewed the security arrangements on Tirumala. He emphasised the need for increasing human resources and provision of material support for security on the hills and in Tirupati town, where about 60,000 pilgrims visit on an average in a day.Referring to the progress of investigation in the TTD Arjitha Seva tickets scam, he said the vigilance and enforcement department has submitted a report to the TTD, confirming the hand of 3 board members and 54 TTD employees in the scam, when he was the DG vigilance and enforcement.Based on the report, the TTD lodged a complaint against all the accused with the Tirumala I Town police, which later transferred it to the CID. When asked about the police policy in dealing with the movements on state bifurcation and unified state demands, he said the law and order in the state is under control.Replying to a query on police failure in tracking down Bhanu Kiran, the main accused in the murder case of Maddelacheruvu Suri, the DGP said the CID is investigating the case and exuded confidence in nabbing the guilty. Rayalaseema range IG Santosh Mehra, Anantapur range DIG Charu Sinha, Tirupati Urban SP J Prabhakara Rao, Chittoor district SP Kranti Rana Tata and other police officials were present.
