New Delhi: Bangalore-bound GoAir plane, with 171 passengers and crew on board, had to make an emergency landing at the IGI airport soon after it took off from Delhi on Monday, an official spokesperson said.
The pilot of the GoAir flight G8-201 asked for emergency landing after a smoke warning from the cargo compartment was on. The flight which took off at 9.23 am from Delhi landed safely at 9:41 am, he said.
"All the 165 passengers and six crew members on board are safe," the spokesperson said, adding that there is no casualty reported.
This airbus-320 aircraft was the newest one which GoAir has taken from airbus industry.
"We suspect it was a false smoke warning as after inspection nothing was found. There was no detection of any smoke or goods which could have produced the smoke," he said.
The plane will soon take off after all the necessary checks as per the trouble shooting procedure, the spokesperson added.
