KOCHI: The police on Thursday registered a first investigation report (FIR) and initiated move to track US-based evangelist William Lee who went absconding after being detained from addressing a religious convention at Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium, Kaloor, on Wednesday.Lee was detained on Wednesday for violating visa rules while he was about to deliver a lecture at the convention titled ‘Musical Splash 2011’ organised by Faith Leaders Church of God in Kochi. The police stopped him from delivering the lecture since the visa rules in the country do not permit any person with tourist visa from addressing a public gathering. He may be deported back to the US if he surrenders before the police. The police found Lee missing from the hotel on Thursday morning and issued a high alert at all airports across the nation to detain him before he get away from the country. “The Kerala police are making all efforts to trace him and the report about this will be submitted to the Central Government.
