BANGALORE: The Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy paid tribute to photographer Ashwathnarayana's photographs of director Puttanna Kanagal.
138 photographs of Puttanna captured by still photographer, Ashwathnarayana are exhibited. The exhibition was inaugurated by veteran actors Srinath, Jayanthi, Nagalakshmi and Puttanna's son Ramu Kanagal. Speaking at the event, Srinath congratulated Ashwathnarayana for preserving such a rare collection of photographs and reminisced about Puttanna's work. "I am happy that the academy is doing an important work by curating such photographs. It is a true tribute to the director," he said. T S Nagabharana, sitting chairman, Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy, said that the event was a precursor to the oneday seminar on Puttanna Kanagal's films to be held at Badami House on July 6. The seminar would comprise a discussion of Kanagal's work. He said it was being organised as part of the 'Shathamanotsava' of B R Panthulu.
