An elderly poet in Uttarakhand’s Pantnagar died after he suffered a heart attack and fell on stage, at a time when he was performing at a poetry festival.
A video of the incident has caught attention on social media, which shows him collapsing on a man who was seated behind him all of a sudden, while he was reciting a poem.

According to an India Today report, the poetry festival was conducted at the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology to pay tribute to brave Indian soldiers and was named ‘Pantnagar Kavya Mahotsav’.
The poet, identified as Subhash Chaturvedi, was rushed to the district hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Later, his body was taken to his ancestral residence in Mathura.
The deceased was an Assistant Accountant at Pantnagar University, who retired in 2014 and was a resident of Jawahar Nagar.
In another incident, that happened on January 22, a man playing Lord Hanuman during a Ramlila play died on stage while performing in Haryana’s Bhiwani. The man, identified as Harish Mehta, reportedly suffered a heart attack during his performance.
