CHIKMAGALUR: In what seemed a veiled taunt to former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa for his reported comment that he will not campaign in the Lok Sabha byelection as it may embarrass the CM and K S Eshwarappa, D V Sadananda Gowda said that the byelection was not about any individual’s prestige but that of an organisation. On Yeddyurappa setting March 20 as a deadline for reinstating him in the BJP, the CM declined to react. I will be campaigning in Udupi for the next two days. The enthusiasm among workers is highly encouraging, he said.He said that the Congress is resorting to blackmail, and the byelection will show whether they will be able to save their deposit.The BJP government’s developments in the last three-and-a-half years have reached the common people, he observed.Cong Gives Problems, We Offer Solutions: CMMudigere: If price rise and increased terrorism in the country are the contributions of Congress, BJP has tried its best to address to the grave problems facing the public, said Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda. Gowda called upon the public to elect Sunil Kumar who, he said, will be an ideal replacement for him.Speaking on the occasion, Home Minister R Ashok said that the BJP could only resolve problems; the UPA government’s failures have resulted in inflation.Minister B N Bachegowda declared that Sadananda Gowda will be the CM for the remaining one and a half years and do so after the next Assembly elections too.
