Driver spills the beans: Indrani, ex-husband Sanjeev strangulated Sheena Bora inside a car, burnt body
Sheena was allegedly strangulated inside the car by Indrani and Sanjeev, and body was dumped inside a bag, which was put at the back of the car.

The statement of Indrani Mukherjea's driver Shyam Rai has spilled the beans on the murder mystery of her daughter Sheena Bora. Nailing Indrani and her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, the driver has given the account of the cold-blooded murder.

According to the statement of the driver, accessed by CNN-IBN, Indrani went for a reccee on April 23, 2012 along with him in Gagode village near Khopli Pen road in Mumbai where she planned to dump Sheena's body after killing her.

Following this, she gave a call to her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna.

The next day, on April 24, Indrani booked a room at Worli hill top hotel in Mumbai as Sanjeev arrived from Kolkata after the phone call.

The duo picked up Indrani's daughter Sheena at around 7 pm the same day from near National College at Linking Road in Bandra.

Sheena was allegedly strangulated inside the car by Indrani and Sanjeev, and body was dumped inside a bag, which was put at the back of the car.

Later, the bag was allegedly set on fire at around 4 am on April 25. Sanjeev returned to Kolkata after disposing off Sheena's body.

Meanwhile, public prosecutor in the case told CNN-IBN that while Sanjeev has confessed to being in the car when Sheena was murdered, he did not confess to have committed the crime.

This came shortly after Sheena's brother Mikhail Bora reportedly shared proof against former Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea and his wife Indrani Mukherjea with Mumbai Police, sources said.

A team of Mumbai Police officials questioned Mikhail, who is also Indrani's son, at Dispur Police station in Assam. He could be taken to Mumbai on Thursday evening for further questioning, the sources said.

Earlier in the day, the sources had said that Indrani had plans to murder her son Mikhail also. She had reportedly asked him to come to Kolkata, but he had refused.

The plot to kill Mikhail was deduced by police while they were questioning Sanjeev Khanna, Indrani's previous husband and second accused in the case.

Confirming the same, Mikhail had said, "She asked me to come to Kolkata but I denied. She told she'll take care of my grandparents and I should move to Kolkata where she will get me a job and help me settle there, but my instinct told me not to and I denied.

She threatened of cutting out funds for my grandparents if I did not comply."

The statement was made by Indrani's driver under Section 161 of the CrPC, which says that any police officer may examine orally any person supposed to be acquainted with the facts and circumstances of the case. The police officer may also reduce into writing any statement made to him.
