Driver dies in mishap

THOOTHUKUDI: One person died in a road accident near Kayathar on Wednesday. V Augustin (38) of Andaal Street, Thoothukudi, was driving an omni bus from Chennai to Nagercoil. On nearing Villiseri junction around 4.30 am, he stopped the bus and was standing in front of it when a lorry going to Thazhaiyuthu hit the rear of the bus, pushing it to the front. The bus hit Augustin, who was squeezed under the bus . He died on the spot.  On information, the Kayathar police and Kovilpatti Fire and Rescue Service personnel rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
