SALEM: The Salem Police on Wednesday booked a land grab case against DMDK MLA of Salem North Azhagapuram Mohanraj. Rajamanickam (63) of Peramanur lodged a complaint with the Fairlands Police stating that he had bought 3,200 sqft in Fairlands in 2005. Rajamanickam said that Mohanraj and his wife Unnamalai demolished the compound of the land and encroached it. They refused to vacate the site and issued threats. Following this Rajamanickam had sought police help to retrieve his land. Special Cell for Land Grabbing Cases booked cases against the MLA and his wife. Cases were booked under sections 448 (trespassing), section 427 ( causing damage to property and using foul language against the complainant) and section 506 (2) threatening to murder.
