Dhananjay Mahadik appointed video analyst of men's hockey
Mahadik played 64 international matches and represented the country in the various tournaments.

New Delhi: Hockey India (HI) on Friday announced the appointment of Dhananjay Mahadik as video analyst of the senior men national team.

Mahadik worked as video analyst of the Delhi Waveriders in the inaugural Hockey India League season.

As a player, Mahadik played 64 international matches and represented the country in the various tournaments, including FIH Hockey World Cup in New Delhi 2010, Commonwealth Games in New Delhi 2010, Asian Games in China 2010.

"I am excited to be a part of the national coaching set-up. Asia Cup is very important tournament for us and we have to win it to qualify for the World Cup 2014. It will be a good experience for me to work under highly experienced Roelant Oltmans and M K Kaushik," Mahadik said.

"The inaugural season of Hero Hockey India League was a big learning experience for me as a video analyst of the Delhi Waveriders," he said.

On the appointment, HI Secretary General Narinder Batra said, "In the modern hockey video analysis is an essential element to get a complete biomechanical feedback of performance which serves as a valuable resource in player's development."

"With his domain knowledge, Mahadik will prove to be a good video-analyst who is familiar with current modern practices of analysis," Batra added.
