The Tiruvannamalai Annamalayar Temple in Tamil Nadu is considered one of the most famous holy sites in the country. Devotees from across the globe come to the place for worship, especially during the days of full moon. Here is a look at the auspicious days, as reported by Local18.

At the temple, the Pujas conducted on the full moon and new moon days are believed to be very special. According to Local18, lakhs of devotees visit the temple to perform the Girivalam ceremony during the days.

The journey of Girivalam is performed on the hill known as Tiruvannamalai. It is believed that by going around the hill, any wish of the devotee will be fulfilled. The full moon day is taking place on the first day of the Purattasi month, more information states. As per more reports, several devotees have already reached the temple. The auspicious time to perform Girivalam is on September 19, starting from 11 am and will last till 8 am, the next day. The devotees include locals as well as people from across the country and abroad.

Since the sun was not visible in the evening, from 4 PM onwards, the Girivalam crowd started increasing, reported Local18. Some of the devotees lit soodam in the temples that came in the Girivalam path and started the worship. Performing Girivalam is believed to get rid of any sinful deeds while increasing the merits. It will help the person with peace and tranquillity of the mind. Furthermore, it is believed to improve your health and cure any disease you may be suffering from.
