Dengue claims infants life

SRIKAKULAM: With the death of a 20-month-old child in Kummaripeta village of Narasannapeta mandal, dengue death toll has gone up to five in the district this year.Sampathi Jhansi, was admitted to a children’s hospital in Srikakulam following fever since Saturday. As her condition did not improve, her father and mother took her to King George Hospital in Vizag on the advice of doctors who confirmed that she was suffering from dengue.After admission, Jhansi’s condition further deteriorated. Her parents admitted her in a corporate hospital when she was critical. Jhansi was declared dead on Friday. Water-borne diseases have risen in the district besides malaria.
