New Delhi: A Delhi Traffic Police constable was on Tuesday allegedly beaten up by a lawyer outside Rohini court in New Delhi when he was stopped by the former for driving on the wrong side.
The incident took place around 10.30 AM while Head Constable Santosh was on duty near the Rohini court. "Santosh flagged down a car driven by Virender Sangwan (29), a lawyer when he saw him approaching Gate No 5 of the court from the wrong side. On being stopped, the lawyer came out of the car and started an argument. He then punched and slapped the policeman," said a police official. The lawyer also called up three of his colleagues who
joined in and also thrashed the traffic policeman. They not just thrashed him and even tore his uniform, he said. However, locals intervened and cop was rescued while the lawyers went inside the court.
