Deadline for new voters extended

CHENNAI: The deadline for filing claims and objections by the new voters as part of the ongoing summary revision of the electoral rolls was extended from November 8 to November 11, by Chief Electora l Officer Praveen Kumar. Owing to heavy rains and floods, the Election Commission of India extended the deadline which was to end on Tuesday. However, the date of final publication of the electoral rolls, which was notified as January 5 next year, remains unchanged.
