BANGALORE: Home Minister R Ashok said that a special team has been constituted to probe the murder of two students at Mysore recently.“The team is headed by DCP Krishnamraju of the CCB. It consists of officers and men who have the expertise in cracking sensational cases. This is a challenge to the police department.I am confident that we will unearth the truth and arrest the culprits at the earliest,” he told the media here on Monday.He said he has been in constant touch with the DG & IGP, the SP and officers incharge of the investigation regarding this double-murder mystery. “I cannot tell you the details of the probe as it is sensitive. I spoke to ADGP RK Dutta and the Mysore SP this morning to know the progress,” the Home Minister added.Ashok said he will shortly visit the districts where naxal presence has been noticed and review the functioning of the anti-naxal force.“I will stay in the ANF camp with the officers and other ranks during my visit to Chikmagalur and Udupi districts. I would like to assure the police that the government is with them and will take care of their basis needs when they work in difficult terrain,” he said.He disclosed that a new place for construction of High Grounds police station has been identified near the Race Course but it will be finalised in consultation with the officials of the urban development and the BBMP.“I am aware that the High Grounds police station which has the onerous task of providing security to sensitive buildings and VVIPs is functioning from make-shift premises. I will ensure that a proper and sophisticated police station is constructed at the earliest,” Ashok said.
