SAMBALPUR: A convict out on parole, Basu Khadia (37), allegedly committed suicide on Thursday night. His body was found hanging from a tree by villagers on Friday morning.Khadia of Kadelpita village under Katarbaga police limits was convicted for the murder of his beloved Jeema Khadia in 1998 and had been sentenced to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment in 2001. This is the third time that he was released on parole. He was sent home for four days from December 24. Though he had left home for jail at the end of his parole on Thursday, he did not reach the jail and was found hanging from a tree on Friday. His body was found tattooed at many places with the name of his lover. The extreme step taken by Khadia has left everyone baffled as only two years were left for the sentence to end. Police have seized the body.
