HYDERABAD: Terming the proposed Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill as anti-Hindu, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has demanded the Centre to drop the move to introduce it in the Parliament. Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, the VHP state working president M Ramaraju said the Bill was an effort by the UPA government to appease the minority community. The Bill was against the interests of the Hindus and was a threat to national integration, he said.“The government is talking about atrocities on minorities but it is actually the other way around. A survey revealed that Hindus were victimised wherever the population of minorities is above 10 per cent,’’ Ramaraju said. The VHP leader also found fault with the National Security Council which drafted the Bill. “The council members are anti-Hindu and Leftists and are strong fundamentalists,’’ the VHP leader alleged.VHP all-India joint secretary Satyamji said the government is planning to bring the Bill in view of the incidents in Orissa and Gujarat. “In both the cases, the commissions constituted to probe the violence pointed that the violence was triggered by the minorities,’’ Satyamji said.VHP pranth secretary Thakur Yemen Singh said the Centre is planning to bring the Bill in view of elections in Uttar Pradesh in 2012 and general elections in 2014. “We will launch protests across the state on July 25 and 26 protesting against the Bill. We also seek the support of all political parties in this regard,’’ Yemen Singh said. The VHP leaders criticised senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh’s remarks that Hindu organisations were behind the recent Mumbai terror attacks. “If he thinks RSS is involved in the attacks, let him prove it,’’ Ramaraju said.
