Coming soon to Bihar: A hi-tech city!
Bihar’s CM Nitish Kumar wants to make the state the next IT hub. He says Bihar will surpass Andhra and Karnataka soon.

Patna: Bihar is likely to embark on an IT trip if Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has his way. After the Hyderabad visit, Nitish Kumar is charting out a plan to imbibe the city’s IT culture in Bihar.

The state government has already started the process of planning a hi-tech city in Bihar, similar to the one in Hyderabad. High on government’s agenda is a master plan for a software technology park, drafting of an IT policy and setting up of E-seva centers.

The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas that concluded in Hyderabad seems to have motivated the Bihar CM.

Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi – on the instruction of the Chief Minister – has contacted Larsen and Tubro, the builders of Hi-tech City in Hyderabad.

He has invited the company to come to Bihar and set up a software technology park. He also met

the software engineers who developed the concept of E-seva centers in Andhra Pradesh - the one stop center for all bill payments.

Modi says, the government is in the process of drafting an IT policy, which would be even better than the one existing in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu or Karnataka.

"We spoke to L&T officials and invited them to make an software park in Bihar. We are very impressed. They have told us that they will visit Bihar. We have assured them that we will provide them everything that every other state govts are giving," Modi said.
