CM optimistic on dam report

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy expressed the hope that the report submitted to the Supreme Court by the empowered committee on the Mullaperiyar dam issue, would be helpful to the interests of the state.Briefing mediapersons here on the cabinet decisions on Wednesday, he said that the State Government was able to present its case effectively before the committee.CU LAND ROWHe said there was no move to assign land to anyone against public interest. Referring to the controversy over the move to assign Calicut University’s land to private trusts, Chandy said that IUML ministers M K Muneer and P K Kunhalikutty had categorically stated there was no such move on the part of the University Syndicate.
