CM asks RTC to hire 500 buses

 HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday directed the RTC to hire additional 500 private buses to cope with the festival rush and to ensure proper power supply and distribution of subsidy rice and essential commodities to the people.At a review meeting held at his camp office on Friday, Reddy was informed that RTC operated 322 buses in the twin cities, and some buses in Khammam and in the Old City of Hyderabad.Energy officials said the power supply was at 233 million units as against the demand of 268 million units per day.The coal production was about 50,000 tonnes. Deputy chief minister C Damodar Rajanarsimha, finance minister Ramanarayana Reddy, roads and buildings minister D Prasada Rao, chief secretary Pankaj Dwivedi, vigilance chief commissioner SV Prasad and other officials attended.
