A civil society group will organise a campaign in Lucknow to create awareness among the people to save the Gomti river from water pollution. The members under the banner of Lok Adhikar Manch will launch the campaign by forming a human chain on Tuesday, President of the organisation, Anil Singh said.
Nearly 10,000 people, including prominent clerics such as Chairman of Parmarth Niketan, Swami Chidanand Muniji, Maulana Kalbe Sadiq and Mahant Devya Giri would participate in the campaign.
The drive would also include National Sample Survey volunteers, NSC scouts and guides, teachers, members of bar association and social activists, Singh said.
