HYDERABAD: Students of corporate colleges in the city bagged top ranks in IIT exam. Sri Chaitanya students from city bagged the all-India first, eighth and ninth ranks in the open category while securing 15 ranks in the top 100. B S Rao, chairman of Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions congratulated the toppers.B Sushma Sri, director, Chaitanya Educational Institutions said their students secured more than 50 ranks in the top 100 from Andhra Pradesh. She said the college would provide Rs 25 crore worth scholarships to meritorious Intermediate students from weaker sections for pursuing higher education. Another corporate giant, Narayana students also excelled by securing 3, 4, 6, 12, 20, 22, 29 and 58 ranks in the open category. They also got more than 50 ranks in the top 100..Bhashyam IIT JEE Academy students secured 11, 18, 19, 22, 134, 146, 177, 226, 251, 265, and 287 ranks in the open category. IIT officials would conduct online admissions for the convenience of the students to opt their choice of the engineering stream in various IIT centres in the country. The candidate have to register at the JEE Counselling Online Portal (JCOP) - http://www.jee.iitk.ac.in/JCOP using the 'Register Here' link and fill the required details as given in the JEE-2011 admit card along with a password. On completion of this procedure the website shall automatically create a user-ID. Instructions are provided in the 'Registration Procedure' document available for download in the 'Help' tab in JCOP.After registration and payment of counselling fee, the candidate have to login to the JCOP (http://www.jee.iitk.ac.in/JCOP) using the User-ID, password and the JEE-2011 registration number printed on the JEE-2011 admit card. The course allocation for a candidate is done strictly on the basis of the all-India rank as well as the courses he/she selects in order of preference during counselling.All candidates must send documents like their SSC, Inter marks memo and a proof of residential address through speed post so as to reach the JEE chairman of the Zonal IIT (the IIT from which the candidate received the Admit card) on or before 5 pm on June 10, 2011.10 students from BPL families get good ranks10 students of the Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare Residential Educational Institution Society's Junior College in New Nagole have secured good ranks in the IIT-JEE. All these students belong to SC/ST and are from BPL families. Students who secured ranks are J Mohan (452), P Sravan Kumar (532), G Balaraju (567), B Prasad (573), G Devendranath (639), G Mallikarjuna(1037), Ch Ravikumar (1129), N Ramu (1442), K Nirmala (1606) and K Premchand (1612). The students called on the chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the Secretariat on Thursday. The chief minister congratulated the students.
