CII to assess employability of vocational stream

PUDUCHERRY: The Confederation of Indian Industry will assess the employment potential of vocational stream students this year.Meenakshi Kumar, chairman, CII Puducherry said they had done an assessment of nearly 700 vocational stream students in the Union Territory two years ago and the exercise would be repeated this year.He was addressing a function organised to distribute books, donated by the Asia Foundation, to universities and schools. E Vallavan, Director of School Education, said a study would be undertaken on the library facilities in the government schools. He recalled that the Right to Education Act had specified adequate library facilities at schools.Vallavan suggested that the books distributed to the schools should not be used as reference books alone but also be circulated among the students. The Government has identified 11 government schools, with library facility, to whom the books would be distributed.
