HYDERABAD/BANGALORE:The CBI carried out searches on properties of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and on the premises belonging to some government officials and business houses that invested in the MP’s companies.They are said to have seized truckloads of documents, some reportedly of an “incriminating” nature.Simultaneous searches were conducted on his offices and properties in Bangalore, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Rajkot and Kolkata. The teams also raided Jagan’s palatial property near Lotus Pond, his sister Sharmila’s house in Jubilee Hills, the office of his newspaper Sakshi and the residence of Vijay Sai Reddy, vice-president of Jagati Publications.The CBI spokesperson in Delhi said several cases have been registered against Jagan, whose companies are alleged to have received ‘quid pro quo’ investments from companies that had benefited from land allotments during his father’s regime.The Enforcement Directorate may soon file a money-laundering case against Jagan and his associates.In Bangalore, two CBI teams searched Jagan’s house and office and confiscated documents, and also raided Mantri Mall in Malleswaram, in which Jagan is said to have a stake. His house at Bagalur and office at Koramangala were also searched by CBI sleuths.
