HYDERABAD: The CBI built a water-tight case in the special CBI court here on Friday against granting bail to Obulapuram Mining Company promoter Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brother-in-law and OMC managing director BV Srinivasa Reddy.The two, who are accused in the case of illegal iron ore mining, moved bail petitions a couple of days ago but the CBI counsel, in his counter affidavit, argued that if the two were released on bail, there was a possibility of witnesses being threatened.“Even while they are in jail, five of their men intimidated a witness recently. If they are out on bail, there is a clear possibility that they might threaten many more witnesses,' the CBI counsel said.Because of the possibility of bodily harm to the witnesses, the investigating agency had already provided security to a few witnesses and the court may, therefore, may kindly reject the bail petitions of the two accused persons, he argued.
