BANGALORE: The CID Police have registered a case against former chairman of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) H N Krishna and others, in the Vidhana Soudha police station on Thursday evening on charges of irregularities following the direction by the High Court. Additional Commissioner T Sunil Kumar confirmed this to The New Indian Express and said, “I don’t have the details of the case as of now and I cannot comment on what charges the case has been registered,” he said. The Inspector of Vidhana Soudha B S Lakhman Kumar told The New Indian Express that they have registered a forgery case against the accused. It is alleged that during Krishna’s time, three women candidates got into the KPSC service, though they provided fake documents including caste certificates, an officer added.Sources in the CID said that Inspector of Criminal Investigation Department V P N Swamy has registered the case with the Vidhana Soudha police. The top officers of CID wanted to suspend Inspector Swamy in relation to the KPSC scam investigation, but later they dropped the idea after Swamy’s senior colleague opposed this by saying his friend was a scapegoat in this case. Now the senior officials have asked the same Inspector to become complainant in the case, sources revealed. It may be recalled that the High Court has lashed out at the CID for not registering a criminal case against those involved in irregularities in selection of candidates by KPSC between 1998-2004.The petition was filed by B Raghu, Khaleel Ahmed, Suresh Kumar and 60 others. All the candidates, who were victims of the irregularities between 1999 and 2004, sought a probe into the alleged irregularities.
